In-headset display for IPD adjustment on Mac OS #789

I'm not sure if this is the right place to report this, as I'm not sure what level of the stack is responsible, but I thought I'd give it a try.

I've got my Vive set up with my Mac (using the Steam VR beta), and everything is working great (as best as it does in Mac OS), but one thing is bugging me. It's my understanding that when I rotate the IPD knob on the headset I'm supposed to see the IPD numbers in-world, overlaid on whatever experience I'm in. I've done this in Windows, but in Mac OS, I never see the numbers. I've tried it in the "white room" and in various VR worlds. I can crank it all the way until it stops and crank it all the way back the other way until it stops, and I never see the numbers.

Is this something OpenVR should be doing, or another part of the system? Is its absence a bug or an unimplemented future? If I should be barking up a different tree, please point me in the right direction. I've already talked to Steam support (who pointed me here).

Thank you!

Hi @iangilman - yes, this does happen in the software/SteamVR layer and it stopped working due to a change in whether we launch the "vrdashboard" process. Working to get this back asap. This is just a UI issue - the physical IPD is being taken into account in software properly.
