Is this bug the same on Linux and Windows?
Never encountered this bug under Windows, no.
So, in the last map before "The Escape" (turret trap) I tried to record the demo and, although I couldn't get the cues not to play in sync FOR the demo - the music starts OK, another issue popped out - the sync-sweep synthesizer lead sound is booming loud
Here's the demo: http://do.id.uw.edu.pl/~rambo/soundtest.dem
And here's a quicksave that is exhibiting out of sync cue: http://do.id.uw.edu.pl/~rambo/quick.sav
On a better note, I couldn't reproduce the bug in old Aperture Science levels anymore.
For the "sound doesn't cut off when landing on a rail", that's the error that the game is spitting to console: Error: Sound operator elapsed_time requires valid channel pointer, being called without one S
In many levels, the fading in/out musical motifs can, in some unclear circumstances (but mostly reproducible when doing save when cue is playing and then reloading), cue in at wrong parts of the melody:
As a side note, in both Linux and Windows versions I could repetitively trigger these cues not fading out when landing on items, like rails, cubes.
