Portal gun missing #312

I chated with steam but they couldn't help, here is a small portion of the chat "What is happening is the portal gun is gone. It started when Wheatley pounds the elevator down when he takes control of the aperture science facility. It happened right after the loading screen with the Aperture Science Innovators logo, when the fall scene loaded up, the portal was gone. It still shots portals and works like normal, but the portal gun is just invisible."

Then i was told to use r_drawviewmodel 1 which didn't work

Then I tried a previous save from chapter 3 and 5 and the portal gun is fine, my chapter 6 save seems to be the problem. I was told to replay the portion in chapter 5 up to where I am on 6, but I want to know if there is a better solution.

When "The Fall" chapter starts with the gameplay, I had never picked up the portal gun, but was still able to use the portal gun fully. This bug persisted even after restarting my game and picking up GLaDOS from the birds nest. I had to start a new playthrough to fix this issue. I was not zoomed in.

I have no way to recreate this bug right now nor did i notice anything from the command lines.

You simply had r_drawviewmodel set to 0, set it to 1 and it'll show your gun again.

I lost my portal gun too Things I tried: r_drawviewmodel 1 did not work for me viewmodel_offset_y 6 & ( 0, 1, 10 )

respawn_entities made everything white accept the portal gun :D after trying a few times and also trying a command that I don't know if it is valid reload & respawn_entities it suddenly was back! :)
