Crash to desktop on game start -- Sixense/Windows #80

Open snowywolf opened 10 years ago

snowywolf commented 10 years ago

Crashes to desktop after starting the game (right before the menu loads)

If i delete the client.dll/server.dll located in portal2_sixense\bin, it seems to fix the crash, although sixense doesn't seem to work.

I take it that you own the Sixense DLC? You can run the game with -nosixense to fix this.

Sixense isn't supported on Linux.

snowywolf commented 10 years ago

Erm, but my OS is windows.

timjp87 commented 10 years ago

@snowywolf Did you opt into the beta for Portal 2? I'd assume Valve moved things over to let SDL2 handle input etc. even on the Windows platform so they can have one codebase for all platforms. It's important that people test the same build.

davidw-valve commented 10 years ago

@snowywolf: Sorry, didn't notice your OS is Windows. Yes, Sixense doesn't work right now in the beta I'm afraid and we are working on fixing it. If you want to use Sixense you will have to opt out of the betra branch for the moment.
