Dota 2 is shown as "in library" but actually it's not in the game list available (to be installed or played) #10822

Your system information

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

I wasn't expecting to see a game in my library if i didn't added it. I see it "as in my library" but when i check the game list, the game isn't there.

I just expect to see it as marked as it can be "added to my library".

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Open the Dota 2 game page
  2. Check the "Add to my library" button or "In your library" status
  3. I actually see it as "In my library" but it's actually not shown in the game list

Hello @mbcraft, does this happen with any random game or is it specific to Dota 2?

If you do a search in your Steam library for Dota 2, does it show in the search results? In particular, the game might have been marked as hidden by you at some point in the past.

This also happened to me. I'm also running on Linux Mint (21.3 though). I was looking to download Dota 2 for the first time (I've never played it), and it showed up as in library without being present.

I tried searching my library and it did not show up, so I'm fairly certain it was not hidden by me in the past. It's really not that big of a deal as far as I'm concerned (I wouldn't have pursued the issue further if I hadn't scrolled upon this issue by chance), but it's a weird coincidence that the exact same game has the exact same obscure problem for two different people...
