seems deleting the whole ~/.local/share/Steam folder, without removing the compatibilitytools.d and steamapps folders and the steam_dev.cfg file (i use it to fix download speeds) and then running steam again via the terminal, seems to have fixed it

Steam is stuck in a crash loop. When steam is started, it shows the "logging in" screen, and then goes to the loading screen (steam icon). after about 10 to 20 seconds, steam crashes and starts back up again, this time without needing the "logging in" screen. I've had a lot of crashes since somewhere last week, but resetting steam also doesn't seem to work and the arch wiki also doesn't seem to have my issue
