Your system information

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

I use an external steam controller with the steam deck. Before the past week beta updates I was able to use steam chord functions like:

Now the above functions no longer work. Guess it is due to:

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Just use an external steam controller with the steam deck in gaming mode;
  2. Try the above mentioned button combos.

P.S. BTW is there any place suitable to report steam controller/input bugs. Since forever I have a bug where with some games the haptics/rumble function goes haywire in long gaming sessions (a few hours but the time is variable) The latest one is Ghosts of Tsushima where the controller haptics/rumbles goes erratic activating itself periodically and without reason. In this state the game rumble does not work according to the game's expected behavior. After closing the game (steam deck) the gaming mode UI is unresponsive to both the external steam controller and internal steam deck controller. After a forced steam controller turn off the UI starts responding to the steam deck own internal controller. This happens every time after a few hours.

And it went live in the new stable client:

Finally got it. Guide Button Cord Layout is not configurable on the steam deck which does not make any sense. Anyway used the controller on linux steam version and set the layout to default. That solved the issue. Guess that earlier behavior on steam deck simply override custom settings but since there is no option to configure it in steam deck, both gaming mode and desktop, I could not fix it.
