slay the spire not launching in new steam client because of forced 'Steam for Linux runtime 1.0 (scout)' env #11450

Your system information

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

slay the spire will not launch without running steam with "steam -compat-force-slr off" launch option

this option disables the 'Steam for Linux runtime 1.0 (scout)' enverment and uses the system libs instead. because it works with system libs it probably needs a lib not included in 'Steam for Linux runtime 1.0 (scout)', my guess is that since it needs xrandr, and since xrandr is a rare hard dependency for a game its missing from that runtime env?

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. launch steam normally on linux
  2. make sure slay the spire isn't using proton
  3. click play on slay the spire
  4. watch it fail to launch.
