Menus turn black when woken up from sleep

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

Expected: The menus are normal Actual: The menus are black and appear above all other windows

Steps for reproducing this issue:

1. Open Steam
2. Wait 5 minutes or so for the PC to go to sleep (not suspend)
3. Wake computer up from sleep and open Steam menu
4. Menus are blacked out and appear above all other windows.

General workaround: close Steam (not just the window: you must go to the menu bar icon and click "Exit Steam") and restart it.

Notes:

• webhelper_gpu.txt talks about some GPU crashes:
  • GPU process was unable to boot: GPU process crashed too many times with SwiftShader.
