Allow downloading games for foreign platforms

One may have a very good reason why to purchase and download a game, even if it was not released for one's platform:

You only need game data, because the engine is available for your platform (Doom3, various AGS games for instance)
You know that the game is supported using some sort of emulation (hundreds games are reported to work very well in Wine). I don't know how this fits with the Steam DRM, but you at least can't prevent people downloading the content from another computer (or virtual machine) with native Steam.

I think that this request has a very high customer benefit/required developer effort ratio.

This is a real example: I own X-Com on Windows (via Steam, amongst other sources). I have installed OpenXcom, which requires X-Com. OpenXcom works on Linux, but I have to go through hoops to make X-Com available. It's dumb.
