Costume Quest keeps losing my saved games #2526

Steps to reproduce: Go back in time and buy Costume Quest as part of one of the Humble Bundles. Play the game for several hours. Save your game, and verify that the resume game menu appears and that it loads your saved game. Quit Costume Quest. Go to your day job and/or do housework for a week. Come back to Costume Quest and relish the thought of resuming this charming game where you left off.

Expected behavior: you are delighted by the whimsy of this game and are excited to continue playing it. Observed behavior: you have to start over at the freaking beginning of the game, because your saved data is gone. Reproduction rate: 2/2

Hmm, just loaded CQ and it has my saves from last week; Do you have Steam Cloud enabled for the game? what’re the contents of your ~/.local/share/doublefine/costumequest and Steam/userdata/USERID/115100/remote directories ?

Okay, this is strange. After starting a new game and it claiming to save, exiting and restarting the game and choosing resume resumed the old game, the one I thought was lost. I can't seem to reproduce the original problem anymore.
