Joining an invite through steam overlay causes keyboard to be unresponsive #2650

When starting any of the game modes from the Awesomenauts UI, the game runs normally and input works correctly (in Ubuntu). However, when launching the game from a Steam Invite, once in the game, the keyboard does not respond except for launching the steam overlay.

Any ideas what the problem might be?

System Details: Operating System Version: Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS (64 bit) Kernel Name: Linux Kernel Version: 3.2.0-48-generic X Server Vendor: The X.Org Foundation X Server Release: 11103000 X Window Manager: Compiz Steam Runtime Version: steam-runtime-release-i386_2013-06-28

Keyboards: Razer Nostromo & HP generic Mouse: Razar Taipa

i occasionally get unresponsive keyboard and the steam client even locks mouse, i know the interface is causing it but i am not exactly sure where it locks up. sometimes i spam ESC keys and click everywhere on the interface to get it go unstuck and sometimes it works.

I am still having this problem. It seems the interface is taking control of the keyboard and not giving it back to the game. I can use the chat in the interface but once back in game, the keyboard does not respond.

I think i have the same problem. I also lost keyboard when getting through invite. Mouse works fine. I realize that keyboard stop working also on steam overlay (you cannot write comments or type url on the steam integrated browser). You can also loose keyboard input if you call Steam overlay for any other reason than joining an invite or start the game through an invite, but I fail to reproduce the exact steps. I only know that you loose keyboard control when calling Steam overlay around 1 of each 5 times you bring steam interface. ARMA III seems to suffer from the same problem with steam overlay.

I am STILL having this problem with Awesomenauts.

I'm running in this same issue. Steam Overlay seems to make keyboard stop working on Awesomenauts.

The issue plagues me too. Worst part is if you kill the game and restart, you will be rejected from rejoining.
