Steam X crash after update #2715

I'm using version 1.0.0.39 in Ubuntu 13.04 amd64.

When I run steam from the terminal, I get a message saying

Steam: An X Error occurred
X Error of failed request:  BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation)
Major opcode of failed request:  18 (X_ChangeProperty)
Value in failed request:  0x0
Serial number of failed request:  105
xerror_handler: X failed, continuing
Uploading dump (out-of-process) [proxy '']
/tmp/dumps/crash_20130720203211_1.dmp
/media/Storage/Linux/Games/Steam/steam.sh: line 705: 13339 Segmentation fault                (core dumped) $STEAM_DEBUGGER "$STEAMROOT/$PLATFORM/$STEAMEXE" "$@"

among the output. (The previous output is verbose about installing breakpad exception handlers, but I suppose this is normal for there are a lot of these.)

We'll need system information and hopefully a crash dump ID to do further investigation. Closing pending more info.

Please request the information needed. I have just collected a crash dump id: bp-7bea0b18-e570-47d3-b4fc-8157d2130726.

The crash ID was what I was looking for. It's an odd crash so I don't have any immediate advice on what caused it, but we'll take a look.

Hi, I come by to ask about the results of the crash-dump diagnosis, anything new? The keeps throwing the same error from my side.

Sorry, I don't have anything additional for you at the moment. We don't have a repro here so it's difficult to dig in.
