This has nothing to do with Steam Linux.
Has everything to do with Linux, happens in Linux, do you happen to have a better place to report it? No?
This is not a problem with the steam client, but with the steam community website. You do use the client to upload your picture and to set your privacy settings, but all data is actually shared from the steam community site.
You can see how to change privacy settings here: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=4113-YUDH-6401
If these settings don't work for you then you can contact steam support from the button on that page.
Did you actually saw that the bug was reviewed by valve and assigned to a person? If it wouldn't be of interest it would be closed by now, please spend your time in others bug reports, thanks.
The initial review only means that somebody has taken a first glance. The Steam team may or may not do something later.
It's also correct that this is not a Linux-specific issue and this tracker is only for Linux-specific issues. @ekaris you appear to be aware of that and are knowingly misusing this forum. We tend to let that slide most of the time but there's no reason to criticize @af7567 for bringing it up.
Ok but why valve doesn't create a different repo for the site to report bugs?
That would be Steam support. The first choice in the help menu in the client.
This is not support this is a bug report.
@ekaris, you asked why valve does not create another github repo to report website bugs, and the reason is there already is an established support system that covers website issues which is called Steam Support (https://help.steampowered.com/en/), which pre-dates the ValveSoftware on Github issue trackers.
Websites like steamgifts and public crawlers should not be allowed to use our picture from steam just by copying the link, steam should forbid the picture from being shown on a different site, and add an option to don't show it to non friends if one desires.
