SteamCMD Two Factor Authentication Issues #4533

Not really sure where to post this anymore, direct communication with Valve on issues is quite abhorrent. This issue has been reported many times on Reddit, The Steam "Discussion" forums, and the Steam Powered User Forums.

Issue: If you enable the Mobile Authentication application, which is a great tool to help secure your account, you can't use SteamCMD as an automated tool, since you would be required to specify the code after the password and the code changes every X seconds. Which requires SteamCMD to be a manual task.

The batch of one time codes you can generate should be permanent codes that authenticate a specific device so it doesn't have to verify again. While this does open the security a bit, it also allows tasks to be automatically completed with SteamCMD.

Even google allows you to create access codes for specific devices that are permanent until you lock the account down or remove all active devices from the account. (Good for applications like Thunderbird/Outlook) It's the same situation with SteamCMD.

I figured this would just end up getting some sort of resolution, but this has been an on-going issue for a year now.

This isn't the right place since this forum is limited to bugs in the non-Windows ports of the Steam client but I'll leave this open anyway. It sounds like it has already been reported in the right places.
