@pcfreak30 Yes, I have. I even experienced it with a game I had launched before using Steam Play. At some point my localconfig.vdf got reset and setting that same title back to "ViewedSteamPlay" "1"
still results in a crash.
Happens for me too on steam from the Arch Linux repos, Proton 4.2, ext4 drive, amd gpu, no pulseaudio.. The workaround of adding the config value directly worked for me.

Steam Client crashed before compatibility tool notification was shown. Happened because I messed with the sound system, and device became unavailable. The problem was gone once I fixed my configuration files.

I'm also getting this on Gentoo after clicking the continue button, and the notification sound plays fine. Interestingly, this only occurs for me when using the sway window manager, it works as expected when running Steam on KDE.
