[Future Request] add support local (file://) address default page #6208

in-game browser very usable, but they doesn't have bookmarks possible change only default page I'm create simple html page with favorite links, but steam browser can't open page on local storage, why? local page is simple resolution for bookmarks

This would be helpful for games that have local files like Zachworks games with instructions.

Hello @steamlinux, I copied the url to some local nVidia driver docs to Steam's overlay and it opened fine with both the big picture overlay and the desktop mode overlay. Please give this a retest.

I did notice you need to give a full absolute path to the local file, so it'll end up looking like file:///path/to/file (note the three consecutive slashes).

I'm retest this. if I manually type link, startswith on "file:///" - this work, but I can't save this link as default.

steam beta update, linux debian unstable
