Steam client version (build number or date): May 20 2019
Distribution (e.g. Ubuntu): Debian & Win7
Opted into Steam client beta?: Yes
Have you checked for system updates?: Yes
Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:
It would be very useful to have a button (perhaps in the dialog window for Settings -> "Remote Play") to force a remote host to restart its steam client, or optionally restart it only if there is a new client version available.
This will avoid the need to be at the same physical location in order to upgrade the remote steam client.
NOTE: neither VNC nor remote desktop are adequate solutions for this, because they both leave the windows console locked and requiring a password when you exit.
