Crusader Kings 2 no DLCs #734

Open blackkaven opened 11 years ago

blackkaven commented 11 years ago

I ought Crusader Kings 2 and the expansion DLCs but steam does not down display the DLCs, when I check the DLC folder in Crusader Kings 2 I see the DLC files but they are not used by the game. Verifying the game cache seems to work for some people but not for me.

conq commented 11 years ago

I can confirm this issue.

I fixed it by renaming the "DLC" folder to "dlc", now I can see the DLC in the game.

blackkaven commented 11 years ago

Hmm I tried to rename the folder and started the game but it didn't help.

johndrinkwater commented 11 years ago

OK, so its a problem with the game, @conq ? @blackkaven if you rename it to DLC2, hit enter, rename again to dlc, it should correctly rename if you were having issues.

blackkaven commented 11 years ago

Hmm, after renaming it again it seems to work.

johndrinkwater commented 11 years ago

OK, well, I have emailed Paradox about the issue. I’ll leave the bug open so other people searching will find it and not make further reports.

loisgomez commented 11 years ago

Confirmed as well, renaming didnt work for me. Also DLC tab on steam doesnt show any DLCs on Linux. In my windows System it does show all my Crusader Kings 2 DLCs

przemoli commented 11 years ago

Also:

Steam -> Library -> CKII -> Right Click -> Properties -> Local Files -> Verify Integrity of Game Cache

It should help for some people..

I had the same problem (and solution) as conq. Steam is case-preserving, but CK2 is case-sensitive. Steam will default to writing DLCs to a directory called "DLC," but CK2 can only find them in "dlc"

As soon as I "mv DLC dlc", DLC loads correctly.

tigerdavid commented 9 years ago

@conq Thanks for the suggestion, works like a charm!

kisak-valve commented 7 years ago

Closing as this CK2 appears to have fixed the case sensitivity issue quite a while ago. Any existing installs of the game that predate the case-sensitive change will still hit this issue, and will need to manually adjust the folder due to #577. New installs of the game are not affected.

GinjaNinja32 commented 7 years ago

Just saw this myself. Renaming ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Crusader Kings II/DLC to dlc fixed it as mentioned above.

Uramekus commented 6 years ago

since #4925 is closed, and #4925 was the motive this got reopened, can we close that one?

kisak-valve commented 6 years ago

Hello @Uramekus, as indicated to the right of the above reference to #4925 and at the top of that issue report, it is a closed issue report.
