Noted in #7608, the controller now reconnects, but the issue is still around.
Oh God, i forgot about the older issue i wrote days ago, thanks kisak and sorry for the repeated post.
Hi! I have the same issue, but on Arch. The controller reconnects after I unplug and replug it, then it'll stop working for about 2 minutes (despite my config having been loaded according to a Steam popup window), then it'll start working again. Here's my gist: https://gist.github.com/willthong/576de06b3d91c3c3dc8c8a9960ff4a34
Happens both on Bluetooth and via USB. Thanks for your help!

Are you using the Steam Linux Runtime compatibility tool?: No
Haven't used the controller in some months (been playing RTS games) but i am suffering from this issue as well.
USB or Bluetooth connection.
Something to note: when disconnecting the controller works fine within Ubuntu; so i believe the issue is within Steam itself.

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:
Since yesterday, my two DS4 controllers are randomly disconnecting while gaming only on Steam. I am using the Playstation Configuration Support. The controller light goes from white to blue and input stops working until i quit the game. Emulators and such work perfectly. The disconnects usually appear after 5 minutes, though it could be less if the controller is actively used.
