Clicking the close button after purchasing trading cards freezes store and community pages #7897

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

When purchasing multiple cards from the market and then clicking the green close button at the bottom of the screen, steam will seem to freeze. I am still able to go to my library but anything else just takes me back to the frozen market page with the close button. I guess clicking it caused chrome to crash. The only way to fix it is restart steam.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Pick a badge collection
  2. Click Buy remaining cards on the market
  3. Click the Place Order button at the bottom
  4. Wait until the order is placed and the button changes to Close, then click it.

I have this exact issue. Linux Mint 20 Cinnamon Steam client built June 8 2021 Opted into Steam client beta?: No Have you checked for system updates?: Yes

The same Problem here. Ubuntu- Mate 20.04LTS Steam client built Nov 5 2021 Opted into Steam client beta?: yes Have you checked for system updates?: Yes

im having the same issue running steam on pop_os. Was there ever found a fix?

As of 2023 I still have this problem in Windows 11.

Same here on Windows 10. The bug appears when buying or selling cards too, always after clicking the green "Close" button. This is the only thing that appears on the black page: image

I've been having this issue since forever. As far as I can remember, at least 8 years.

The end of the summer sale reminded me that this issue still exists. Year after year stuck when clicking "Close". Can't access any Steam page unless I restart the entire client first.
