Your system information

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

Changing input (in my case switching from english to greek and back makes the window unresponsive and text will not appear. Steam is not frozen. It is just rejecting all inputs. Only way to make it work is to click on another window unrelated to steam and back to steam chat so it focuses again. This is probably related to the fact that i am using GNOME Wayland I will retry with X and post results

Should also be noted that this was noticed on the steam flatpak initially but then i also tested the native package and it had the same issues.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Have a system with GNOME Wayland(possibly not required)
  2. Open steam chat , try to type a message
  3. switch layout with another language(maybe try greek since it could be related to the language)
  4. window unresponsive and no input received.

Nope just tested on X it is definitely a Wayland issue(or at least a GNOME Wayland issue)

I'm also having similar problems, except not only with the chat window. After a while the whole client becomes sluggish and unresponsive.
