Emulate gamepads in different ways #8746

Feature Request

I confirm:

Description

Nowadays there are a lot of different gamepads and 95% of them have xbox-like, switch-like or playstation-like button layout and prompts. Some games for Windows have support for different gamepads or have config to change button prompts or even support their additional features like LEDs on DS4. But that is working only if you play games or use some software only in Windows OSs. Also Windows users have software like DS4Windows and DualSenceX which can emulate your gamepad as for example like wired DS4, not only like x360. It would be nice to see similar emulation any gamepad not only like x360, but also as XOne or Dualsence or Nintendo Switch, because on linux systems Windows games don't have the same way access to gamepads as on Windows. Also some games required wired connection, which limit your movements or your distance to PC.

Hello @weter11, functionally, this is a feature request for Steam's Steam Input subsystem, not Proton itself, so I've transferred this issue report to the steam-for-linux issue tracker.

Ok, first I thought to put this to SIAPI page, but it absent.

Is there any chance of this being implemented? or is it not possible? it would make a lot of people happy (myself included 😊)
