Can’t publish desktop controller layout on steam deck #8767

Steam client version (build number or date): Aug 15 2022, at 22:54:17
Distribution (e.g. Ubuntu): SteamOS Holo
Opted into Steam client beta?: [Yes/No] Yes tried all - stable/beta/preview
Have you checked for system updates?: [Yes/No] Yes

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

Not possible to upload the desktop controller bindings to community on Steam Deck desktop mode - it always shows the red message:

Please play with your configuration for at least 5 minutes before publishing it

Even after using it for hours.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

Switch to Desktop Mode
Go to Settings -> Controller -> Desktop Configuration
Change some of the controls
Exit settings
Use the changed layout for > 5 minutes
Go to Settings -> Controller -> Desktop Configuration -> Export Config and try to publish to community layouts This is never possible and will instead show the error message:

Please play with your configuration for at least 5 minutes before publishing it
