Context menu in friend list is broken in new big picture mode #9203

Have you checked for system updates?: Yes

Same issue is happening on the steam deck.

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

Using the new big picture mode, when attempting to open the context menu on a friend an error message is displayed:

Error Reference: Shared SteamUI_7834012_b07157b798f1d4ae 
Cannot read property 'BIsSubMenuVisible' of undefined

Steps for reproducing this issue:

Go to the new big picture mode
Enter the friend view
Attempt to open the context menu on a friend: either via right click or using the controller binding.

I can confirm this can be reproduced on the Steam Deck.

To replicate: Press the STEAM button, select Friends & Chat and press the Sandwich button: the same exact error reference is given.

I'm on the beta release and also have this issue on Steam Deck and it's reproducible.

Reproducible on my Deck (stable).

It's broken on stable beta and preview on the steam deck I have 2 512 models and it's the same on both. Switching between builds doesn't fix the problem I get the same error code.
