This is probably due to the fact that we only display whole tiles. The map view
is being displayed with a certain offset to make sure the map tiles are not all
displayed at the leftmost pixel. This offset is smaller than the width/height
of one tile.
The vertical offset is probably different between landscape and portrait mode,
causing the black bar (smaller than a tile) between the status bar and the map
view.

Perhaps the priority level should be bumped up a notch as I have experienced
this same issue possibly as far back as the initial release. I have referenced
this with screen images in a previous e-mail. I am using a Motorola Droid with
OS version 2.2.1. I prefer to play in landscape mode using the D pad.

This same bar appears upon defeating an enemy with more than 2 items of loot
and selecting to "Pick up all". My opinion is that is related to a text
formatting issue. My method of avoiding this black bar is to select the 1 or 2
loot items that reduces the total to 2 (you can see the screen resize under the
semi transparent loot window upon doing so). In many cases I've noticed that if
the text is short above the loot list, the black bar doesn't appear with even 4
items displayed.
