this subcategory bit used to be up at the top of the filter menu, enabling customers to effectively move down a level to a subcategory (eg. from filtration to internal filters, or from D-D tanks to the Reef Pro).

is this a design choice bringing them all the way down to the bottom of the page? (ETA: I think they'd be more useful at the top, they're as good as useless at the bottom I'd say! If there's wisdom to not using them though and having them at the bottom I'm open to it)

Hi @Ray Woods

Apologies I forgot to mention this in my last handover note. As we've moved away from powertools, the filters are no longer just links. With the category group there it was a mixture of filters and links.

For example, if a user selected a filter, then clicked a category link it would redirect and their filter options wouldn't be saved.

We spoke to Ian as he said that the links being present on the page was good for SEO, as a compromise we said we would move this to under the product grid so that they can still be picked up from an SEO perspective but theyre not interrupting the new filtering system.

Please let me know what you think

Hi Sam, ok that makes sense! I feel have the sub-categories at the top is a big one for functionality, but with this lovely new bit with custom links at the top can replace that function-wise and we can also put in related categories too, whether or not they're 'underneath' them in that structure.

No worries that's all fine then thanks for clarifying, let's crack on and I'll get stuck into populating the category links then next week!
