add error messages to failures
defensively quote paths in cmd scripts

I don't have a code signing cert, so I couldn't test signing. Install/uninstall w/ Inno 6 looks good. running 32-bit app on 64-bit OS looks good. (These were not thoroughly rigorous tests; just tried it interactively a couple times.)
