Implementation of LabPages #3

Open Vetpetmon opened 1 year ago

Vetpetmon commented 1 year ago

LabPages is a work-in-progress first-party advertisement service that is committed to following GDPR and COPPA standards world-wide, not just in the EU. Only the image loads for ads are recorded and stored for up to 8 months on our server, and every 2000 pageloads should make us $2, negating 100% of the bandwidth usage fees and leaving the other $0.50 for allocation into server improvements.

We do not use scripts in this service. We use a payment system that is first-come, first-serve, with Vetpetmon, Digital Dream Designs, and Vetpetmon Labs in our current high-priority list. You can email our website for inquiries on pricing and whatnot, or if you wish to sponsor us.

I want everyone's thoughts on this plan; it can really help us out with covering the hosting fees, and will be placed at the footer (bottom) of every SNAZpedia page as to not be disruptive, yet still visible. However, some people aren't too trusting of advertisement services, so I want to be transparent as much as possible and get an initial group of opinions.

If we get approval, I will begin work on the LabPages webpage ASAP explaining how it works and that it only applies to Vetpetmon-owned domains: "We will do as much as possible to ensure nothing leaves Vetpetmon's servers, besides users clicking off of our website and supporting our family of local businesses."

Sounds interesting. Would be the first and possibly only time I'd make an exception in my adblock.

There's three placements for adverts on the SNAZpedia at the moment. 2 footer placements and a landing page placement.

I'll use the Wyrms of Nyrus v0.1.37 update banner as a placeholder for #0049.

Now we wait.

LabPages is fully set up, email system and all. I need to see if I can access all of these emails without having to go to backend constantly. Doing this a lot unnecessarily will just only cause issues and increase the risks of another wire-tapping incident.
