As an example, one should be able to determine the number of poems published in the New Monthly Magazine, Blackwood’s Magazine, and Bentley’s Miscellany over the years 1840-1845 by Scottish male poets born between 1790 and 1810, and compare that to those by Scottish women for the same time period, or by men over the years 1837-1842. The goal is to provide maximum user flexibility in the construction of queries.
