editing and deleting of discussion posts #391

I remember we had that discussion before, but I can't find the issue anymore.

We have a request from Antje and Rieke to add an [edit] button to individual
posts. I think, we decided against it in the past to not change the discussion
logic. Retracting a comment was allowed though.

At the moment, users do not discuss much, but mainly all answer to the same
question on top. The biggest problem was users posting the same
comments/replies multiple times. But Michael has now implemented a system which
won't allow that any longer, so that problem is resolved and we do not really
need a [delete] button any longer/for now.

However, the discussion behaviour of the users might change in the future, and
adding a [edit] button might still not be a good idea, unless, editing is only
possible for, let's say, 5 min for typos or similar.

I can't recall, if this idea was agreed upon, and how much work this would be.
So, any comments are welcome.

I am confused, there is an edit button right now available on Mothsorchid and
awarenet.eu for discussions/forums post?

double entry of the same discussion reply is still possible. I did prevent the
double entry of comments.

Yes, too much confusion. I wrote this before Antje's explanation that there are
two different issues for comments and discussion posts. My fault.

Yes, there is an edit button (without a time limit) under the discussion posts
and no retract button. Everyone in the field ok with that? Does that make sense
during your work?
