Hi Larissa and Terri! From what I remember, learners are automatically moved into the next grade at the beginning of the year. After their last year of school, they automatically become alumni. Does that not work any longer? Anna
Strix: "It is not possible to delete accounts on awarenet - everything is tied to users. Deleting them would be very complicated and have unpredictable results. We would also have to delete all their stuff (pictures, text, notifications, contributions to project history, etc), which is mixed in with other people's activity. That would make a big mess. The school and grade information in profiles is meant to be biographical, not really to organize people for doing things. For that we have membership lists of groups, projects, etc. People from different schools or grades might be in the same group or project, so it makes sense to list them together. People in the same class remain in the same class even if some don't participate in something, or they work on different projects. We do have a grade level called alumni, you can add a user to this from the user edit page (not profile edit):
http://awarenet/users/edit/SomeUser
There is an automated tool for rolling grades over at the beginning of the year which should eventually dump people in the 'alumni' grade. I can follow up of that this weekend if the grade levels weren't bumped up.
PS: the tool to bump grades is on the admin console under 'schools'. If it hasn't run then you can do it once from awarenet.eu. It can't be undone so don't double-click ;-)"
@LarissaVSA and @Terrilynn , why I ask you to use GitHub for such questions and communications is that most questions have been asked and answered before, eg. this one here: #36. Please, try to use GitHub and also check existing and closed issues for the current problem. You might already find an answer. Thank you. PS: Let us know if your problem is solved by commenting here or closing the issue.
Terri and Larissa were wondering if there was a possibility to delete accounts from awarenet?
"Sometimes it gets confusing when there are apparently 45 kids in a class, but we only teach 12 or so.
I know that the stats look much better if we don't delete anyone, but maybe there is another option? Could we maybe add a new school and call them "Alumni" or something like that? And then we just move those accounts into that group?" (Larissa)
