Hello In my project I've got an infinite redirect loop. This small hack fixed it.

Funny, I faced exactly the same problem today.

The error occurred in my case when a category was tried to be loaded on a product page. The category was not available (more detailed: it belongs to another store) so it could not be loaded. Anyway the catalogCategoryLoadAfter() was triggered and caused an redirect to the homepage...

This would fix it for me as well

Thanks for the PR - sorry to not be more responsive. This module is abandoned, if you are using it and are interested in maintenance, please let me know.
