I am not able to understand the need for first task. I mean why do we need to add a connector?. Is it to avoid any confusion?. I feel that adding it makes UI more complicated.

It was a feedback we got from TAs (the doc was sent in Discord by Powen).

It gives an indicator to the user how far the platform will move, so the gameplay is more intuitive.

I understand your concern about it being a distraction - it can just be a dull/faded color with a thin line so it's subtle.

Does this make sense?
