[Feature Request]: L3 and R3 Buttons

What feature are you suggesting?

Many PS Vita users enjoy playing games from other consoles through emulator apps, such as PCS3 for PS3 games. However, one of the challenges of using emulator apps is the lack of R3 and L3 buttons on the Overlay, which are often used for important functions in some games. Therefore, I suggest that please add the option to map R3 and L3 buttons to overlay controls of the vita3k app. This would allow users to have a more complete and satisfying gaming experience on their PS Vita, without having to buy additional accessories or use external controllers.

Why would this feature be useful?

This feature would be useful because it would allow Vita3k users to play games from other consoles that require L3 and R3 triggers, such as PS2 games. Some examples of games that use L3 and R3 triggers such as Gof of War I and God of War II (or basically The God of War collection in Ps Vita) to be able to use your spartan rage. By adding the option to map L3 and R3 buttons to the touch screen of the vita3k, emulator apps would enable users to enjoy these games and many others without compromising the gameplay or the controls.

What??? It's a psvita emulator that runs on windows, not on a psvita, psvita games do not support L3 and R3, so there is not need to add this. You can't play ps2/ps3 games on it 🤔

What about on phone's, like l3 and r3 are needed for let's say the god of war collection where in god of war 2 you can't really beat the game, because there is a scene where kratos has to activate the spartan rage to escape from the kraken.

I'll try playing GoW II on Aethersx2 i found out that it has L3 and R3 buttons overlay

True the Vita did not have pyphical L3/R3 buttons tho some games DID map a L3/R3 button to the rear touch pad as taps, you could also get a case with the buttons built in that tapped the rear touch pad for these games.

In this case, don't ask for R3 and L3 but for rear touch pad support. You probably can't trigger a "R3/L3" input without rear touch pad support since R3/L3 are not real inputs like other buttons. The rear touch pad only returns the finger position, and not R3/L3.

Correct Ash1038 should of ask for that...So you could add R3/L3 keymapping to the emulator and have it simulate a touch on a virtual rear touch pad at a certain place if you added rear touch support is what your saying?

But like he said some games require l3 and r3, especially android users who usually play without a Bluetooth controller

The PSTV does have a function where you can emulate the Vita's touch functions with R3 and L3. When you press L3 on your controller, a small cursor will appear on the screen, indicating that you can trigger the "touch" of the front screen by pressing X. When you press R3, a different cursor representing the rear touch function will appear, which will do the same thing for that side. This is a very useful feature and I hope the devs consider adding it, so I won't have to constantly let go of the controller and use the mouse to click my way past touch-only screens in my games all the time.
