Pretty sure that'd be up to MISTer's devs whether they add widescreen support or not (the same thing applies to Snes9x and other emulators and hardware)
AFIK MISTers current mainstream SNES Core is cycle accurate for real SNES hardware. If the (hardware)emulate a real SNES + SA1 should it be possible to run the widescreen version?
It should if MISTer can output a widescreen image (and it's fast enough to run SA-1 games).
Keep in mind that Vitor's patch only prepares SMW to be widescreen. It's up to the emulators and hardware devs to support the specifications DerKoun made for widescreen SNES games. Hopefully MISTer's widescreen support can be added via a firmware update or something similar.
SMW Widescreen works with MiSTer, however you will only see the 4:3 centered portion of the game. The MiSTer team needs to evaluate if it's valid to add widescreen rendering support or not and that is kind out of scope since we can't really make anything software-wise (which is this repository).
Ok thanks for clarifying! I hope somebody from MISTer reads this then ;-)
Hey Vitor,
First off: Congrats on your masterful work! Simply stunning for an 80s kid to see this game running in native widescreen.
Here is my question: Since you use SA-1 enhancements: Would it be possible to run your release on MISTer FPGA? Many people don't have an adequate gaming PC and MISTer would be an awesome solution while supporting ultra low input lag and analog video?
