Ideas for user document's Plot #264

What pain point is this feature intended to address? Please describe. There isn't specific instructions as a user to find out how to use different kinds of plot. Another is that aligning label names in Vizier and the user doc. I see that for plot, data series is actually dataset in Vizier, which was confusing for me initially when I was looking at the doc to try using vizier. Lastly, the pictures of Vizier is different from the current vizier which is noted to be updated. Basically, parts that a beginner will want to know is not mentioned on the doc.

Describe the solution you'd like

How about this for the filter and color options:

It is a brilliant idea to have examples in the options, but users might get confused on where does the "state" come from. For example if I had a graph of democratic and republican's votes in different states, would it be party = democratic or government = democratic. Basically is that, people have different ways of saying the same thing. I think maybe something like the "state" is actually the name of the x or y axis can be mentioned in the user doc.
