This is a proof of concept to test pnpm; an alternative to yarn

Runner	Bundle size	Time (package installation)
pnpm	714 MB	18-19~ seconds (with cache) / 43 - 47 ~ seconds (no cache)
Yarn	927 MB	27-31~ seconds (with cache) / 47-70~ seconds (no cache)

Notes:

Looks like pnpm and storybook@6 do not get along. This will be fixed with release of storybook@7, according to this comment.
