It would be interesting to take a look at various games and see how their economies work, both MMO and single player.
I know that there was a paper written about UO's economy and how the player base killed it rather quickly as the idea broke.
Also, in looking at this, can I get any insights into what could potentially work?
Are making things like marketplaces good for games by making it easier to get to goods? What about trying to impose taxes? And can that still be fun?
