Have to figure out how to change the site language based on browser defaults

For who takes this on if needed here are some hints Key problems to solve:

remembering the user's settings
changing language based on user's settings

when the user changes the language setting:

store in in a cookie How would you cache a variable? (https://stackoverflow.com/questions/14266730/js-how-to-cache-a-variable)
Update the UI to update the UI for a new language, use a library like polyglot: https://github.com/airbnb/polyglot.js
