Can you provide some examples ? currently the user would have to edit manually
干 can be gan(1) or gan(4) https://en.pons.com/translate/chinese-english/%E5%B9%B9 trainchinese.com/v2/wordDetails.php?rAp=0&wordId=31293&tcLanguage=en
How to choose 1 or 4 when using the pinyin translator in Google sheet ?
Another example : 呢 Pinyin can be "Ni-1" "Ni-2", "Ne" .... https://chinese.yabla.com/chinese-english-pinyin-dictionary.php?define=%E5%91%A2
it'll give you one or the other. and you have to correct manually.
How I can choose, in google sheet ? I did not see how to do
you type into the cell to fix.
Sorry for my bad english, are you saying : 1 - I need to write manualy my own pinyin (so, not using your extension) ? 2 - extension provide several pinyin and I need to choose the right ?
Oh, it's a shame, the module loses much of its interest
OK, then let me give your money back :)
I was afraid about my money, ouf ! =D
I think this feature are very usefull for your module. You make a module which "translate" in pinyin, but in some case the translation are aleatory for this caracters. So the main goal the the module are not working at 100%.
Do you plan to add this feature ? I'm ready to donate to help the project is this feature is added.
How do you use the google sheets addon, to take notes during a lesson ?
@Hexor38 do you still use this addon ? I want to fix the data quality issues, but I need help from users. despite being a learner of chinese, i'm not completely sure, is there always a "right" pinyin conversion for a given input sentence ? If so, I can try to cleanup the issues one by one. Otherwise, we'll have to think of a mechanism to suggest multiple choices to the user.
I realized there was an error in the conversion logic, which I recently fixed. I expect the accuracy of conversion for single characters should be better from now on. Please give it a try and give me your feedback. I still haven't thought about what mechanism we could put in place when one character maps to several potential pinyin conversions. Part of the issue is that this addon was designed to convert whole sentences, not individual characters (which can be done better by using dictionary entries, for example when creating flashcards). So please provide more context on how you're using the addon, and we can have a discussion.
For example, "干" had several pinyin, how we can choose the right pinyin for our use ??
