Failed to register: Timeout was reached #246

On Fedora 27 I cannot start the application. If starting on the CLI, I always get these log messages:

flatpak run com.github.needleandthread.vocal [INFO 11:05:29.708782] Application.vala:155: Vocal version: 2.0.1 [INFO 11:05:29.708827] Application.vala:157: Kernel version: 4.14.3-300.fc27.x86_64 Failed to register: Timeout was reached

I installed from flathub through Gnome Software. The same thing happens if I uninstall the flathub version and try the "native" Fedora package from the repository.

Also having this issue today in Loki 0.4.1. Worked fine yesterday.

Hi, I am also experiencing the same Timeout issue. It happened after I added a new podcast feed. vocal-error

Is there a workaround to get the app running?

I believe I have fixed this issue now (buried in commit 90aa4b154662348df102cb4e12d00e75c7491c46 which was a huge refactor).

Holy crap! I just pulled down the latest code,(Manjaro i3) and problem solved!

Thank you! No other podcast client is good enough, and podget is simple, but inflexible and very buggy.

I have this issue on a newly installed mint. Odd that it's still around 2 years after it was "solved".

As zaphod asked, "Is there a workaround to get the app running?"

Same here, I have the latest install from the OpenSuse repository and I see the same error. I also tried the flatpak install and it also returns the same error..

For anyone else who sees this issue: It's caused by Transmission trying to access a file that was previously available and is now missing. Check any samba mounts or other remote/removable drives.
