Special notifications should be implemented for chat messages mentioning a user's name. That way the user doesn't have to check the chat every 5-10 notifications for replies.

This should also be done for files. The user should be notified about every file whose filename contains the user's name. This would make it possible to upload a file for a specific user while he/she isn't online and have Volafile notify them about it when they come online.

I think the chat notifications should be active only while the user is online while the file notifications should be active all the time. It would reduce the drama because that way nobody could see what others said about him/her while people could still leave files for other users.

There are already special notifications for when someone mentions your name. It's called desktop notifications and they're available in the latest chrome and firefox.

The filename thing while a user ISN'T online is going to be a little difficult, but definitely something I will think about.
