this is by design, if the ptfe goes deep into BOTH the mid body AND the hotend then you will not beable to install the two components as the hotend needs to be installed and screws tightened before the mid body can be installed and it need to be slid into the assembly in a manor that would not allow 8mm of ptfe to be inserted at that stage.
so yes its done on purpose to aid in the assembly of the toolhead.
both the revo voron and the dragonfly BMO hotend require this smaller counterbore mid body.
It appears that on the STL for the [a]_Mid_Body_Revo_Voron_x1.stl has an error. The PTFE tube hole is only about 1mm deep and the PTFE tube does not sit securely in the Mid Body. The other tool head mid bodies have this hole much deeper.
It this by design or does the model need to be modified?
