Who we are?

Vulca co-founders were inspired by several international experiences from 2013 to 2016, like being Erasmus, European Volunteers or AuPairs. And then decided to launch officially an NGO in February 2017: Vulca - European Program!

Why we do it

We firmly believe that mobility brings locales communities together and enables easier conduction of distributed projects, which would help achieve Sustainable Development Goals or help to build a better Europe tomorrow for instance. Furthermore, the cross-border activities would better implement collective solutions in order to reach overall development plans, reduce future economic, environmental and social disparities, strengthen economic competitiveness, increase the quality of education and reduce poverty...

What we did (so far)

We developed a specific bottom-up approach to explore Europe and inspire EU policy. The first community to explore was: "The Maker and Hacker Movement" After +300 face to face meeting in more than 30 European countries, the personal connection made us realise the full potential of makers’ community and the impact citizens’ skills and knowledge make at the local level, particularly in spaces such as fab labs, maker/hackerspaces.

How we do it

Vulca started its field research with the aim to understand the impact of makers’ community. For this purpose, we activate a community of people who are living nomad life to explore MHakerspace in Europe from villages to capitals. Through unlocking the potential of makers’ movement, Vulca is becoming an expert on precisely interconnecting the activities of individual fab labs and MHakerspaces.

The quality of our recommendations is based on the years of experience of our explorers. Being on the field helped us to develop a deep understanding of different thematics and needs of citizens as well as to develop a network that covers a wide geographical scope.

As an example of our work, the recent DG EAC call for Makers Mobility Pilot Project was partly launched based on our proposals to policymakers. Vulca European Pilot Project (#MakersMobility)

VULCA IS ABOUT M/HAKERSPACES CONNECTIONS. The European largest Fablabs, M/Hackerspace stakeholder (middleman, network???), offering makers access with enormous scale through its distribution partners (RFF, CREFAB, Ireland FF, VOW, FABCUBE,...)

Vulca connects M/Hakers with their audience globally via projects videos, Github documentation, or whatever can show to our community your project..., working directly with them to find unique ways to bring their project to life.

Vulca also works with emerging Makers and Hackers, providing them with a platform of European scale and reach, to find and grow their project.
