Furnace fails to render anything on Ubuntu #1

I usually work on Solus, but I've temporarily been using Ubuntu on a different machine as well. Thought I'd do some work with furnace, but found it wouldn't do anything useful, including giving an error message. This needs to be fixed.

First problem: pcregrep was not installed, and was not checked for. Have fixed that as of 61c038aa867e9f3de594c7b0906df2b3ab6b7584

Second issue was not hurting anything, but was attempting to optimize when no valid optimizer was available.
