Monk: Revisit what features use Ki #667

This issue is a collection box for ideas in which we could shift around what features use Ki, in the 3.0 playtest. Are there too many of them, could some features not use it? What could we offload from Ki and what should we keep there.

We'll likely be talking small changes here, I'd imagine.

Darkraven, on the Discord, suggested these could be changes to make. When we get back to this issue later, let's work through them in detail.

Transcendence = 2 flat uses. One use when you get the feature, second use at higher level. Both come back on short rest. This Nerf will let you make Detox a BA (because it's fast af in game, and the base monk has it as just a static immunity).

Your version of stillness of mind can be a number of uses = wisdom mod (short rest recharge), as it is normally an action with no limit with the standard monk, this is all making way for the armor proficiency and other buffs they get in your version.

IDK about rushing Jade wind as a general class ability because I only ever see Windwalkers who use it (stopped playing after legion).

I think a more. RPesque ability better fits the area. But if you want to keep it combat based, I think something crazy like Nat 20s rewarding 1 expended Ki point wouldn't break this mold. Crits are rare, and it would give them a way to engage certain features once they're depleted. It potentially rewards them for spending their resources! This makes it slightly less scary to lose all your resources, and also replicates the feeling of getting the resource free procs you get in game. Not all use rjw, but the monk gets tons of procs regardless of spec. Since you have given them lots to spend the points on, it essentially fuels their "addiction".
