deregister VRESM-1-0 source_id entry #1122

Hello again gents, just looping around. I assume you are both busy with post-AR6 and post-CMIP6 projects.

We have managed to work through several the loose ends and have now deregistered 7 of the 11 remaining unpublished models.

To finish up this cleanup, I plan to deregister VRESM-1-0 next week (Thursday 30th June 2022) unless I hear back from you.

Hi gents, I hope all is well in South Africa and you are negotiating your new normal well.

Just circling around on the query below. The VRESM-1-0 model is one of the registered entries with no currently published data (e.g. https://esgf-node.llnl.gov/search/cmip6/?source_id=VRESM-1-0). Additionally, this was omitted in the AR6 Annex II (https://www.ipcc.ch/report/ar6/wg1/downloads/report/IPCC_AR6_WGI_AnnexII.pdf#Page=15), and so for both these reasons will not be included in the IPCC DDC AR6 data archive.

We are curious about the status of your contribution, and whether we should deregister the entry if no data is planned for publication.

Dear Paul

Yes, that is correct. Thank you for pressing on with making this neat on the system.

An African-based ESM is still alive and well, but is hasn’t managed to participate in CMIP6.

Our intention is to complete some OMIP simulations in 2023… we’ll reach out at the appropriate time to see how we can get this published on the ESG.

@fengelbrecht thanks for confirming. Hopefully we have some temporally extended datasets for you in 2023, so you can undertake more up-to-date simulations.

As you have confirmed, I will process this deregistration today
