EC-Earth aerosol data #1

A group of EC-Earth people, in particular Klaus Wyser at SMHI, had made a great effort trying to retrieve the AOD from our simulations without rerunning the models. Klaus now managed to obtain od550aer and abs550aer by running MACv2-SP offline using the CMIP6 forcings (historical and the five scenarios) under the EC-Earth setting combining with the pre-industrial background climatology from the EC-Earth-AerChem piControl. These dada are now published on the ESGF for the r1 of EC-Earth3 and EC-Earth3-Veg. Since the AOD output from the MACv2-SP are a forcing, they thus independent of the simulated climate state of the individual members. Therefore, the AOD of other members will be identical with these r1 members, and we thus won’t duplicate them on the ESGF.
