I just realized, that cmor will write the realm attribute into the output file no matter what. In this example, you see the realm = "REALM" attribute although it is eliminated from all tables including the header due to https://github.com/WCRP-CORDEX/data-request-table/issues/4 . I'll check the cmor issues if there is a solution. I think for now it's ok.
